A closed mailing list for GO consortium members and those working on or directly involved in the GO project. All posts to the GO Friends mailing list are automatically sent to the GO mailing list.

A closed mailing list for those actively working on manual annotation of gene products using GO terms.

GO Friends mailing list

A mailing list for those involved in the GO project and those interested in it. All posts to the GO Friends mailing list are automatically sent to the GO mailing list.

A number of the GO interest groups have their own mailing list. See the GO interest groups page for details on these lists and on how to email the GO list on topics relevant to specific interest groups.

Mailing List Subscription Help

To subscribe to a mailing list, send an email to [mailing list name]-request@geneontology.org with the text subscribe in the message body.

To unsubscribe from a mailing list, send an email to [mailing list name]-request@geneontology.org with the text unsubscribe in the message body.

The mailing list names are as follows:

  • GO Consortium mailing list: go
  • GO Annotation: annotation
  • GO Friends: gofriends
  • GO-diff: go-diff

To send a subscription or unsubscription message to the GO Friends mailing list, you would use the address gofriends-request@geneontology.org.

Multiple Subscriptions

If you are running an interest group you may need to add several people to a mailing list at once. You can do this in a single email message. Send an email to [mailing list name]-request@geneontology.org with the following in the body:

subscribe e-mail_address_1
subscribe e-mail_address_2
subscribe e-mail_address_3
subscribe e-mail_address_4
